You can also run it through an ignition wire so when you turn your car on the fan turns on and stays on till you turn it off.

Make sure you hook it through a relay and an inline fuse.If your car doesn't have the low coolant light you can use a wire from the plug.It is next to the overflow bottle on the radiator support.

There are a number of ignition wires on your car, the only ones I am positive of are your radio, power locks, windows, and fuel pump. Run a wire from your ignition on wire from your radio out to a relay for your electric fan, when you turn your key on it will trip the relay and switch your fan on.

thats silly, just hook it up to the solenoid on the firewall beside the battery, just make sure to put it on the side that goes to the starter.
and a relay helps also.

If you look at the ignition coil, the harness that plugs into it, I think one of the middle wires stays on when the key is in the II position. Use a multimeter to find out which one this is. Tap it to that wire. Don't worry about the fan robbing power, the switch wire is only to two little magnets inside the relay for the fan, it doesn't use much power at all.

Get a standard relay if that fan doesn't already have it. I see a bunch of wires in that pic, which might be to a relay, not sure, if not, it's about $15.

So it's a pretty cheap process.

I got my fan installed for about $30 after everything that I needed and it works like a charm, and yes, that fan is very similar to the Volvo fan we recommended earlier in another thread.
