Default Weight Reduction

I have an 88 gt and I've put my motor together and hoping to crank it within the next couple of days. I was trying to get sum weight off the car and I was wondering about some odds and ends that might take off some pounds. My goal is to try and lose 200 pounds. Dont know how much the stock gt weighs but I have taken out the gas tank(have a fuel cell), the back seats r gone, and I was wondering where else can I lose some weight. Thanks any and everybody

you coud remove the bumper covers and remove the metal reinforcement bumper behind it....but I'd only do that if it's a mainly strip car

you could shave off about 70lb if you swap k-members with aftermarket k-members kits

Remove the spare tire and padding.Aluminum heads, radiator, driveshaft, and flywheel all save weight. The tubular K kit is a huge savior.

Get manual steering set-up and remove HVAC system from car.
Your car could end up like mine, 2840#,'84 hatchback if you do things right. BTW, 28403 is with a 190# of me in the car.
I got almost 325# out of it after I bought it and it already had some of the wieght out of it........

If you didn't know the old 4 eyed cars are a bit lighter than the aero cars. My 83 hatch is supposed to weight like 2700 from the factory dry from what I have read. You also have a vert and its an aod. That doesn't help you at all.
