If your not using anything off your regular motor why not go with a 351 but if you do go with the 347 count on spending a couple more grandon top of the long block for intake injectors tb maf cooling(stock radiator can barely keep up) i spent about 4400 on my long block and got over 6000 in my motor total

I already have the Edelbrock Performer 2 upper and lower intake, a 70mm Edelbrock TB and a BBK cold air intake.

I was planning on buying 30# Ford Racing injectors and a MAF.

I have a 195lph Holley fuel pump and an Aeromotive adjustable FPR.

I know Ill need at least a 3 core radiator. (ebay, 200$)

I have MAC shorties, MAC off road H and an SLP loudmouth cat back.

I think other than that im pretty much set.

Any ideas??

i wouldnt go with those 30#ers you will need something bigger, you can find a good deal on 39#ers at blue oval industries with a 90mm lightning MAF,, i ran the lightning with 60#ers for a while N/A

http://www.blueovalindustries.com/pr...p?pid=99012968

call brian at

adperformance.com and he can hook you up with a nice rotating assembly, heads, and dart block

or you can pricematch the block to summitracing and get it here faster think i pricematched to feustralracing or soemthing like that

you can geta northern radiator from summit for like $169 that fits perfectly, no reason to spend money on a fluidyne or a cheap ebay one

you will need a 255lph fuel pump most likely,

i used stock dizzy with new ign module works fine

dont forget new ign system and coil

will prolly have to have a different brake booster or MC when you cam the 347

ive been down this road for the past two-three years any help you need just ask, but do yourself a favor and start with a decent block or youll end up swapping it out in the future and end up wasting money on machine work

one reason 306!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are talking to a seasoned vetern not some noob, my car has 600RWHP w/ 60#ers in it and i am at 95% duty cycle, with my 347 and 42# injectors at 8.5:1 CR i made 373RWHP and 427RWTQ leaned out but safe was 350/351 at almost 60% duty cycle, if you were to ever spray the 347 or add some sort of forced induction you will be kicking youself in the *** for not going a lil bigger than you need.

typically when you change displacement you will need to adjust for this with some sort of aftermarket tune, not to many people i know get their 331s or 347s or any stroked motor to run efficiently on just a FP and timing tune. I tried this and burnt up rings and valve guides, if you are going to spend the money to build your ride then do not skimp on tuning/ignition/fuel.

yes the 347 will run just fine on 30#ers but will be pushing it also depending on CR and HP, it will also run fine on stock ignition but wont run that good, on my N/A 347 i picked up almost 20RWHP swapping back and forth from stock ign to aftermarket

i have a friend that runs a vortech strim on his 306 puts down 486RWHP on 16#s of boost without a custom chip, it runs pig rich and then leans wayy out at the top, he custom tuned it and runs great at all RPM laid down 527RWHP he just installed the 60#ers too and with his setup ran at 82% duty cycle

do yourself a favor before you build keep on asking questions as long as they are stupid ones then they will most likely be answered and some of the stupid ones will be answered too

make sure you have some sort of goal in mind before you build because mistakes or unused parts cost lots of $$

THR told me I would be around 360 to the wheels. I am not looking to be a super rocket ship. I want a nice clean fast car. I drive the car mabe a few dozen times a year so its definitley not pounded daily. I think the block will be plenty for what I need from it.

What do you think?
