then do as i mentioned above. if your level of expertise was greater than mjr's post would be spot on.

i will say that if you wanna drop your oilpan and change the oil pump (its super easy once pan is off) it would be a very good idea. also be a REALLY good idea to use a hardened oil pump driveshaft when the new pump goes in. an ARP model is only like 20 bucks and is some of the best insurance you can buy for your motor.

I slapped some GT-40X heads on a 100K+ block with no problems. I had good compression and when I tore the heads off the block looked good, I cleaned thecarbon off thetop of the pistons

If you have not worked on a bottomend before, do not do it on something you rely on.

If it helps, I added H/C/I at 142k, and daily drove it up to 162k, when I decided to rebuild it (no reason).
