You wont find a new T-56 for 1500
Theyre a very costly swap.
But if you have the money, possibly a little over 3grand total for the swap
Then go for it.

buy the base tremec tranny, it will be more than good enough for you.

A t56 would be very nice but, swaps usualy = head aches. The simplicty in strenghting my existing tranny with a G-force kit is so much more appealing. Their T-5 kits are rated at a 600 HP. That rating means that the tranny will hold up to 100% traction on a clutch dump at 600 HP. I dont think I could break that. I also know everything will fit just like it does, no funny drive shaft measurements, the shifter will sit exactly where it does now, and there wont be any adaptor plates needed. I hate to swap out major stuff like that [&:].

T56 tranny are great, assuming you have the money and time to swap. They usually run around 2500 and up. A good swap kit will cost 3000.

They work great but unless you are buying it only for the second overdrive gear, you will be spending more money than you have to.

If you don't do much highway driving then just stick with the tremec 5spd.
