I currently have a140 amp powermaster 1-wire alternator that used to turn on at 1800-2000 rpm. It now rarely turns on. Has anyone had any problems like this or does anyone know if it can be fixed at a local alternator shop.

Otherwise what are some good options for Chrome alternators that make a lot of power and will hopefully last alittle longer than this one did (8,000 mi/3 yrs)???

Does the generator still work? Does it keep the battery charged? When the car is running at idle what is the output of the generator?

it appears to be working the slightest bit.. my voltage gauge sits at like 9 when the car is on... 8 is the lowest it goes. Used to sit at like 14.5-15 when running.

any ideas ?
