Default Why is my car dying?

I have a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 auto. When I back the car up in reverse, stop, then put in drive, it sounds like its about to stall. The RPM drops down to about 300-400 then revs back up. The car is fine after that. I was thinking it was the EGR sensor. Any ideas?
