Default A/C Compressor clutch(Please HELP!!!)

I've got no voltage at my A/C compressor clutch, and I don't even know where to start looking. Yes, I've tried the search function(it seems to be down).

It's getting hotter by the second here... and it's going to break 100 in a couple of days.

Oh, and if an admin/mod reads this, please make apostrophes work

Year of the car would be a big help![&:]
You either have, a short, low on freon, a bad low pressure switch, or a toasted clutch coil.

your car is equipped with a cycling clutch switch that may be bad but first things first.. make sure the system has a full charge of refrigerant

The clutch works, but it's most likely empty, I engaged the clutch by hooking it up directly to the battery, it spun but all I got was hot air.

Well, w/e I don't need a/c anyways, i'll just get rid of the extra weight.

Oh, it's a 1988(cali model), not that it matters any more.
