Default Will this cool me down.

Hello i was wondering if this would make my car run cooler.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...3756.m14.l1318

My car really does over heat, but it seems to over flow when siting in traffic.I think this holds more coolent, and was thinking it would get rid of some of the pressure that the stock one probably had.I dont want it to over flow and drain my radiator. It seems like a price thats in my range so your options would be great. thank you.

overflow where? into your overflow tank? thats what it is for.and if a radiator hold more coolent you would just fill it up more so i dont see it helping you pressure wise and is your car all stock? if so your stock radiator should be fine just get it flushed out maybe

you need to find out what is causing overheat condition...like a bad radiator cap, bad radiator, bad t-stat, bad clutch fan, blown head gasket....ect ect......

If you're overheating & you don't have alot done to your
engine then the problem more than likely isn't going to be
with your radiator (unless it's clogged)

Since it's filling up the overflow, that sounds to me like you
either have a blown head gasket or bad radiator cap. If it
was just overheating without filling the overflow I'd say the
radiator might help or changing the thermostat.

You can take the radiator cap off when it's cool, fill up the
radiator, then full throttle the engine & see if coolant comes
flying out. If it does you have a blown head gasket. If not I
would try replacing the radiator cap.

that'd only be a valid test if it were an excessively bad blown gasket....not all blows are severe enough to create that much positive pressure...best way to confirm is buy a block check kit which tests for hydrocarbons in the cooling system which will indicate the blown gasket

How much coolant is going into the overflow? If it is just a little that is fine it is supposed to do that. However, filling it up would indicated topics covered above.

Yeah that's kinda still in the theory stage. That was just my
quick way of testing after I found out it did it on my car
once. It worked on 4 cars now anyway [&:]. One at least got a
little eratic with the cap off, only shot a little out at wot.
When I blew mine it shot about 5 ft into the air onto my
friends car. [sm=smiley36.gif]
