Default starting issues

Good afternoon people,

I just bought a 1990 mustang gt vert. It ran for a couple of days and all of a sudden just stopped... I checked the fuel relay originally and it was present. I then changed the spark plugs and ignition coil but because the car was running fine prior didn't believe it was the distributor. That was probably me just hoping I didn't have to buy a new one. Neither ofthose worked

The car is trying to turn over very badly. I went back to the fuel relay and realized it was just pouring out. Is this suppose to shoot out at me or am I having some sort of fuel issue? I checked the fuel shut off in the trunk unplugged it and plugged it back in and that wasn't it either... Anybody have any suggestions.

It just sucks that I just bought the car and I can't drive it

Sorry for the double post but I just realized I posted the first one in the wrong place.

you need to check to see if it has spark or lack of fuel..spray ether in intake....if it fires up briefly it's fuel related if not check for spark with a inline checker

Can you elaborate on this "I went back to the fuel relay and realized it was just pouring out"?

this doesnt make any sense, where is this "relay" you are talking about? cause the fuel pump relay is inside the car under the drivers seat, and to my knowledge nothing "pours" out of electrical connections [&:].
i know on my 88 my TFI module went out, thats the gray module on the side of the distributor, on another it was the coil that was shot both spark related, i figure that may be the problem since you said fuel was pouring out of something

No I messed up by saying fuel relay i'm sorry... I don't have my book with me so i'm not sure on the exact word usage but it's on the fuel rail and i pressed it to see if there was fuel present and it poured out but at a very slow rate... I wasn't sure if this was suppose to squirt out or fall like a waterfall.

schrader valve is what I think your talking about, it is on the fuel line and looks kind of like a valve stem found on your wheels to air up your tires. This is used to check fuel pressure with a gauge, he good news is it sounds like at least ou have fuel reaching the line.... but it may not be "enough",as in the right pressure. You canborrow the gauge from from most autopart stores to check.

Alright thanks... I'm going to replace the TFI module today... And if that doesn't work i'm going to borrow that fuel guage to see if i'm getting the right pressure... Then I might be dropping the fuel tank out to replace the fuel pump! Thanks for the help i'll let you know how it goes later on.
