Default new lights

I need soem help here guys i was in the process of installing these headlight kits
http://www.themustangshop.ca/product/303889/300413#

As you can see in the pic there is the big bulb and then there is a smaller bulb in the lower left of the headlight. Everything just swapped in the new lights except my old stock ones didnt have that light. So in the instrutions for the headlights (which sucked) It said to connect the black and red which is conected to the little extra bulb to the brown and black wire? Now i couldnt see any brown and black connected to the old headlights soo i looked around and found a a brownish and black wires with an adapter just hangin down under neath it which weasnt used for anything, so i thoguht these must be what they are talking about, so i cut of the adapter and spliced the wires like they said too and i tested it out and the little bulbs do not work, just the main beam? Does any one know what those 2 wies were for? I was thinking maybe it was the optional fog lights for the gt since i have an lx.

okay reconnect whatever wires you cut..you should never cut wires like that anyway...that not the right way to splice...that little light bulb comes on with your parking lights...so get a test light, and turn on just your parking lights, and probe around for the parking light wires...when you find them, cut back about 1/2 inch of insulation, then spread the wire equally in half, take the new wire from the little bulb and put it through the center of the split wire and wrap it around, and then you can put some sodder on it or just wrap it with electrical tape...so again find the parking light wires and hook into there

...... Or buy some of these...

No slicing or cutting needed. Put the uncut wire through the open side, the new wire in the other side and close it shut with some pliers. Seems like a much better way to do it. Those are what I used when I installed your remote start/remote locks Brendan.

yea thats the other way to do it too but those splicers...i have no idea what you cut, but all i know is you need to hook into the parking light wires...so reconnect whatever you cut and start over, and you will be good to go
