There is about 6 grand worth of extras into my car...I bought it for $3500 cuz the guy needed money ...But im running very low 13's on motor and in the 11.5 range on a 100 shot....If you gotta ask how much its gonna cost to make a fast car then you prolly dont have the money....With a 5.0 with all the bolt ons...IE heads intake ignition exhaust etc etc...you will easily run 13's...prolly high at first and they will go lower as you get better at shifting etc....then you can drop another 500-600 on nitrous to get you into the 11's or in the 2 3 4 5 grand range to supercharge or turbo. But you may have a big motor but without the proper suspension and tires your ET's are going to suffer.

I'd stick witha set E.T goal and build the car accordingly....Just remember...12's not to hard...on the pocket, parts etc,....11's or deeper...its gonna cost alotof money+(more tech related safety stuff)...I just spent 1500 plus just to rebuild my manual TKO(for racing)clutch and flywheel,,and another350.00 for a SFI blow proof housing...its alot fo little things that you dont budget for that bite you in the butt.....
P.S Fox cars are gettin harder and harder to find in decent shape..I wouldn't cut one up unless it a 4 banger to start with.....and SN95 cars are a dime a dozen in my area....Heck ,got a 95GT out back with a 5.0 and autothat was totaled waiting for a race car buyer....and its not a hard fix body wise...bought for 250.00 ........and it runs and drives.......

well to be honest, we could put $6000 up to start, and in the future as we get more money start doing some other stuff. but for 6000 approx, what would be the best thing to do.
obviously it would be great if we ran 10's or 11's, but that being well in the future is ok. we just want to get started and have a plan to know where were going, so any advice would be appreciated..
thanks

I've got $5600 in parts in my living room, and I'm just building a street strip car. I'm not even touching the bottom end of the motor!. I already have a good Demon carb, but here's $5600 in partswithout touching the short block:

Polished carb style intake manifold
CI custom cam
Comp Cams springs, seats, retainers & keepers
Ford Racingroller rockers with studs and pushrods
Cloyes 9 keyway timing chain
MSD Billet distributor
MSD 6AL
MSD 2 step module
Ford racing plug wires
UPR full length subframe connectors
UPR upper & Lower control arms
Strange 10 way struts
Moroso front drag springs
Mac shorty headers
Pypes header back stainless exhaust with X-pipe
Fiberglass cowl hood
Weld drag lites, skinnies up front, 10" rears
Nitto drag radials 275/50/15
FRPP 4.10 gear
Ring and pinion install kit
9" Redneck non lock up conveter, 3300 stall
Baumann Electronic Controls shift kit
Autometer 5" tach with shift light (cobalt)
Autometer oil pressure & water temp guages

And I'm sure I left out a few things. It adds up Quick!
