I know i've seen this recently but im blind without the search function (and CTRL+F isnt helping either)
anyway

I went on a missing yesterday finding 5/8-11 bols that were short enough to plug the thermactor hols in the back of my cylinder heads. The shortest ones i found were 1" long. Does anyone know if this is too long? I dont want to crash into anything screwing in a bolt that might be too long.

Does anyone know the geometry of the cylinder heads enough to say if i can use 1" bolts to plug my thermactor smog holes?

i would find a nut that fits on it and cut maybe a 1/4 in or soo off just to be on the safe side. or turn it in until they bottom out sung then mark it and cut as needed.

how much did you cut? i counted the number of threads on the trick-flow plugs and it looks like 11 so that should be exactly 1", am i right?

 

since the thread is 5/8-11... the 11 means 11 threads per inch.
