Default thermactor cylinder plugs/ header problems

Ok, so my 66 coupe has the stock heads with the thermactor ports in them. I called up mustangs plus and got the cylinder head plugs. They worked great with my exhaust manifolds, but I now have a pair of tri-y headers. The header flange will not clear the hex head of the thermactor cylinder plugs. I can't find anyone who sells the "sleeve thermactor" type. I was thinking of using a hack saw to cut off the hex head but do not know how I would reinstall them. Any ideas, or has anyone run into this issue before?

I would say either grind the header flange until in clears the plugs or find a plug with the same thread that uses an allen wrench.

does anyone know the bolt size for the thermactor plugs? I can't find the package the bolts came in anywhere. And if I grind the header flange until the plugs clear the header wouldn't I run the risk of an exhaust leak? I have no clue, never done this before.

Yea, I bought those. The plug is too large for my thermactor ports. Those plugs only fit newer 302's. Thanks for the help though.
