Default Ignition problem?

when i am driving down the road, with the pedal down enough just to keep me going the speed limit, my car just dies... and about two seconds later it starts back up. i just leave it in gear and it will start back up. it does this about twice every 30 minutes.

so when it dies the engine is still turning cause its still in gear; however, the tach is at zero. anyone have any ideas? i just replaced the ignition control module. still does it.

Maybe its a fuel related problem? Thanks

run a koeo/koer test and look for codes if none exist and the fault is a result of brief loss of ignition/pip signal then it may have a faulty tfi module and or stator in the distributor

check the wire goin into the ignition coil. Check the connections inside the tip and the tip of the coil. When i had my 89 i had that issue except mine also bucked like crazy then started back up. Checked that stuff and it was all corroded and then bought a new one and it was all good

check the dizzy, and also, i dunno if the SN95 setup is the same as the fox, but my friends car was doing something similar, and we took off the column cover, and a plug of some sort fell off of where the ignition switch was, and that was the problem, id check in that general area, and see if thats the same thing

In general, i would just do a tune up, get a new dizzy, coil, wires, and plugs, sounds like you may be missing some teeth on the dizzy gear, or some of the connections are too far apart/corroded

when it happens everything stays on, the radio, lights, everything. the engine is still turning cause it is still in gear but the tach is not working. it also is starting harder and harder now, i am gonna try a distributor i guess.
