Default transmission cooler

I've been hearing this for a while, everyone says that a transmission cooler for an automatic is a good idea but didn't it come with a stock one?

they have on stock. pop the hood and look at the rad on the drivers side. you will see two skinny steel lines running into the radiator, one on the top and one on the bottom. the coller is only like 2-4 inches wide and i can't remember how long it is right now. really its not enough for a stock trans in hot weather, so just get a good aftermarket cooler, especially if you ever plan on running a shift kit or high stall converter.

trannys stock dont have coolers for our stangs. they have what is called a heat exchanger. now for a cooler get the largest one you can possibly find if your running a good size stall

b&m makes a great one for $50. mine is rated for 24000 gross vehical weight or something like that. the bigger the better. b& m recomended to me what i run the lines through the radiator, then though the cooler and then back to the trans

honestly just by pass the heat exchanger and go right thru the cooler...think about it. the heat changer is cooled off from teh coolant. so now you got hot coolant cooling your tranny
