Default Lower rad hose replacement

So the other day i'm goin down the road, and I look over at my temp gauge. Reads 210 and climbing. I $hit since the cars never passed 195, especially going down the road at 9:30 in the morning. Me and my buddy pull over. I have hardly any coolant in the little container thing. We luckily pulled in next to an autozone. So I grab a bottle of 50/50, top her off, and go on. Within 5 min she's back down to 190. :-)... Arrive home later, car was running at 195, but it was hot as could be outside. Check the coolant level, it's gone down a bit. I figured maybe it was just in the system or something. lol So I don't drive the car for a couple days, and I check it again, it's back down to wear it was when the car overheated. So I crawl under the car, and see a faint puddle, but not alot, then I also see that very light kinda "rust dust" over a good portion of the concrete, And I see it on a spot of the lower radiator hose. I remembered when I first got the car my bro told me that prolly needed replacing cause he spotted a small split and theres a spot on the bottom of the hose that still has coolant soaked on it so i'm pretty sure thats what it is. So ima pick a new one up tmrw and I was wondering if its as simple as taking the old one off and puttin the new one on. Will I have fluid pouring on me from the engine or radiator? Also, what could cause it to leak till it gets really low in the resivour(sp) then hold?
Thanks,
Tony

I just replaced mine the other day. If you want to drain everything out disconnect the hose from the bottom of the radiator. This will drain both the radiator andthe crapin the motor. Once drained put the new one on.
