While driving the headlight switch is pretty tricky. It takes a a second to find the nitch so the lights go on. But it will sometimes turn off the interior lights / taillights / license plate lights. And you just slighhtly touch it and they turn back on. But some times they don't and you have the turn them on and off while driving.</P>


Is this a common problem. My brother said he replaced the switch once but it started again. Is it the switch or the wiring harnes?</P>


It's a 1989 5.0 GT convertible.</P>

check right behind the switch i seen corrosion in the wires there , take the switch off check some power and grounds .... test the switch or swap it , want more detail gimi an pm or something

I've seen a lot of the switches burn the wires and melt the plastic connector on the back of the switch.If this has happened to your switch,you can go to your Ford dealership and get the connector to splice in to a new switch.
