Default need help identifying motor

Just picked up a very very clean 81 ghia hatch. Supposed to have a 255 v8. The car has a serp belt set-up. IS this normal? My 83 GT has v belts. I was just thinking the motor may have been swapped.

Also, where on a SBF are the casting numbers that tell what it is?

I had an 82 capri with the 255 in it and it used a serpentine belt.

^^^^^you most likely won't be able to see it cause the starter hides it
