speedometer cable troubles

speedometer cable troubles
Does anyone know an easy way to get a speedometer cable back in the dash. Im having alot of trouble, it just wont click all the way in. It feels like its to short. Any ideas would help. Thanx.

pull a little more through the firewall and it should just snap back in place hearing a "click" once the gex drize on the cable end lines up a slides in to speedo, it will snap in place
