Default rear end problem

Ok guys my buddy did a axel swap. I do believe his is a 2000 i know its the 35th anniversery.....im pretty sure. Anyways he went to 31 spline trac loc diff and 31 spline moser axels he put it all back together and its getting nasty nasty vibrations. Now i ask him if he checked the backlash {i thought you would have to since he put a new diff in} he said that the back lash would have nothing to do with the vibs. Im not sure when he took the old bears out they were GONE done son broke lol. Im not sure guys i gave him my 2 cents just wondering what you guys think. He didnt go higher gears they are the stock ratio.

Thanks guys

Yes I think he should of checked the backlash. Is it making ithave the vibrationsI don't know. I would start with the easy stuff first like make sure the drive shaft is tight and I have seen just turning the drive shaft 180 make a diff. even if he did not remove it also check the u joints.did he mix the carrier caps up check to make sure the mark is to the out side or the arrowspoint out. did he mix up the side load shims he could tell that most of the time with a backlash check.there is not really that much in there so I would think it must be in the set up.

irregardless of what your buddy thinks ,he needs to understand when swapping diff components such as carrier unit , you still need to check specs...there are always inconsistencies and when you don't check things and assume it should be okay then what happens to your buddy is no suprise= lost in the world of troubleshooting cause unknowns are still such due to assumptions...so tell hime to do what Udelose said

noted guys. I talked to him today he said hes takin to to someone and he still thinks its not the back lash. I tole him to check the other stuff and he said hes just gonna take it in.....So whatever i told his *** he didnt need a moser stuff on a stock car to begin with and oem stuff would have been just fine.
