Default COLD AIR KIT

ARE ALUMINUM COLD AIR EBAY KITS WORTH IT. WOULD THEY DAMAGE THE ENGINE. ONE IM LOOKING AT HAS K & N FILTER ON IT

Most 5.0 owners have a cold air kit. It is a very basic mod and cannot harm your engine if it is installed correctly. Installing it and removing the stock air intake takes about 30 minutes. You can find cheap ones on ebay that function as well as more expensive models like bbk or mac. There are two models, so choose what fits your preferance.

I HEARD THE ALUMINUM ONES RUST ON THE INSIDE. WOULD A CHROME ALUMINUM INTAKE RUST?

Well Thats why there ARE more expensive ones. They are mandrel bent and chrome plated to the best quality. They function as well as the cheaper "ebay" CAI's. I doubt the aluminum ones would rust unless you live in the snow or submerge you vehicle in a body of water...

I bought one of these kits off of ebay last year and it is rusted up pretty bad after just sitting over the winter. I paid $35.00 for it so I guess you get what you pay for.

no way aluminum will rust. now if it was made from typical tubing then yes but no way aluminum will rust.
