Accessory Brackets are different. A/C compressors are different along with the condenser. Water pump is different so is the timing cover. I know because I just did the same thing. I bought a wrecked 95 and put it in my 86. The tranny was messed up from the 95 though so I didn't use it so I don't know if they are the same. The driveshafts are the same length. However the one from the 95 was heavier 22lbs compared to 19lbs.

The startest world class in like 89 or so? 94-95 had EAOD trannies, but if you're putting in a 5-speed, don't worry about it. Driveshafts should be the saem lenth I'd figure. SN95s also use a different balancer or something also since under drive pulley kits are dfferent for them. The only difference aout the intake is the adapter elbow, and the fact that the MAF sensor bolts onto the air box instead of clamping on...

Thank you everybody. When I bought the car it came with the driveshaft, so I have that. The car was written off (front end damage, I have an 89 LX parts car for the front clip), and some guy bought it for the motor and trans, so that's all that's missing, has a mint body and good interior, also came with month old exhaust, so I couldn't really lose at $500 for everything....

Car doesn't have A/C or anything like that, it's a bottom feeder GT, exactly what I wanted, nothing to F*** up on you, you know? The only option it had was the sunroof which was an absolute need for me what I was looking for the car, for, I love sunroofs and I've never had one before. (though I could have gotten an 87 GT with T-Tops... which would have been even better... but he wanted too much for what the car was)

Anyway, I phoned SGI (my local insurance company) and asked them about the car, and they told me the wiring harness was different, is this true? Is the ECM the same as a MAF 88 (california)/89+ mustang?

MiaBlackStang, did you run into any major problems while doing the swap? Anything not fit like it should or anything along those lines?

just make sure when you get another computer you get a A9L its for manual trannys and get a Haynes Manual and you will be fine with the swap

Blah, I don't need a haynes aha, I work at a shop, we have Mitchell Ondemand 5. Reason I asked about the computer is that, I could use the ECM out of the 95 vs. trying to find one from an older stang, I'll give them another shout tomorrow and possibly place a bid (the 95's up for auction, silent auction)
