good idea. while you're at it get a mechanical water temp gauge and either a voltmeter or trans temp gauge. i have about 50psi at idle when cold and 60-70 psi cruising cold. about 27-30 hot idle and 50 hot cruising. this is on a 130 k mile motor.

My oil pressure is always high except for idle and its a little lower when its warm. Is this unsafe? Like I mean topping out the gauge.

Check it out in a Haynes...I think technically the oil pressure is supposed to be 35-50 at 2000 rpm or something like that.
