Default Stock 302 to 347 Stroker...

Hey everyone im looking for some advise, I recently bought a stock 302 motor with 120K miles, what I want to do is bore it over into a 347 or a 331 with stroker kit in it, My question is how much do machine shops ussualy charge for somthing like this? I also what to keep it EFI (would it be difficult to do?) and what do you guys perfer A 331 stroker or 447 stroker? Am I just better off just buying a crate engine?

if you want serious power go with a 347 stroker built by dssracing.com
those engines are way better than any crate motor.and yes you
can keep it efi with no problems.

isnt the 347 the oil burning motor around 60,000 miles or so?

everyone says that the 347 has an oil issue. dss claims to have built a crank built specifically for the stroker that eliminates the problem. i have also been told that the 347 that ford racing offers has the oiling problem corrected also. i am going to take my chances and go with the 347 myself.

alot say the 331 is the best bet if your wanting to go stroker. ive heard only good things about them. if i was going to build the engine from a stock block myself i would be going the 331 to be on the safe side.

keeping the efi should cause any problems. would have to get some bigger injectors and probably a good tune.

its your money, do what you would like. also check to see if the company your going to deal with will back up their product if it does start having an oil issue.

i heard that those fixes were temporary, the motor used to burn oil right at break in, now the stalled the oil burning until 60,000. thats just what i have heard good luck
