given the circumstance under which most mustangs are driven and used for Imo I'd never use Jb weld for such a repair underwhich a load and stress will be placed upon the repair
lol thanks guys i think that auto tranny is out the door. NOW help me change the bellhousing on a T5. this is my daily driver and dependability is an issue.
pull the tranny and change the bellhousing its not hard, while its out might want to consider changing front and rear seals and inspect bearing retainer for cracks or damage.

ok guys i removed all bolts the the only bolt that is messing me up is the starter bolt. there is Zero space to remove it. any i deas? maybe a long extension socket?
Mjr is right Change your trans or switch to a C4 Trans is the only thing u can do. Replace w/AOD if you not Beefing up your motor. Or u can keep driving the car the way it is & keep turing down your stereo to listen to all the strange noises u think your hearing. No JB Weld
sorry i didn't read u already started the removal, but the starter bolt is the hardest bolt to remove bad Ford problem. You can put some heat on it or do what i did cut the bellhousing around it, when my trans was down that bolt came out like it never gave me a problem.
