Default Headlight harness wiring question

Hey everyone I have a very important question. I have an 89 lx mustang and the wiring for the alternator got messed up with the same color wires so instead of taking a chance with blowing something up I bought another headlight wiring harness from a gt but one of the plugs that goes to the body or underdash harness is different. Still two wires but different plug. Could I cut the lx plug off and attach it to the gt harness and if so does the brown wire go to the black and the green to the green? Thanks for the help. Chris

On mine the alternator wiring is in the headlight harness and the two b ig green wires are the same size and color. I dont have alot of freetime to chase down voltages on these wires. Thank you.

Hey just so its in the records, the two harnesses are the same. Installed the gt headlight harness today and it works fine. The only difference between the two is what I assume are foglight hookups and a different set of center light bulbs. Chris
