Clutch cable?

Clutch cable?
OK here goes. i am currently doing a aod /t-5 swap on my fathers' 93 gt. everything is pretty much buttoned up. BUT, now it seems as though the clutch will not release enough to shift. the pedals were used( of course ) purchased on E-BAY along with the stock plastic quadrant and used stock cable. i know the trans is fine as i cannot shift into any gear while it is running & the probability of all synchros being shot are unlikely. if i push the pedal very hard, i can barely get into gear. upon closer inspection i find that the clutch pedal itself has a small amount of play on the shaft when pulled up on it (after pushing it in first). i checked for this play on my 87 gt and it seems to have similar play (though i have an adjustable cable & aluminum quadrant). my belief is that the cable may have stretched and/or the quadrant teeth may be bad and not pulling in the clutch fork fully. although they looked ok prior to install. my ? is does anyone else have this small amount of play in the clutch pedal on the shaft? if majority says yes i guess it is normal and he'll be getting a new adjustable cable kit (any recommendations?) thanks for any input

I ran into that same problem when I did the AOD to T5 swap. You need an adjustable clutch cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster.
For some reason, I just couldn't make a stock cable work.
You did reroute the speedometer cable, and use that hole for the clutch cable, right?
