electical issue
i have been have a problem wiht my altenator shorting out. ive been though 4 in a year.
it all started after i had my stereo system professionally installed. since then it is just messed up. i currently have everything disconnected.
i have a 300 watt amp
upgraded speakers
and a dual deck
ive checked most of the grounds a can find and had it looked at by a shop. it always happens with headlihgts and foglights on. it has resontly occurred with lights on, vent running, and rear defrost when battery gauge drops, and checked out put to be from 8 to 10 volts. when i turn it all off its back to normal around 12 to 14.
anyone have any ideas, cus it sucks not having any music and replacin the altenator all the damn time.
thx

im using the oem alternator. everything has been same brand or better.
and i dont have any subs. its just speakers in doors and back through a small amp,
i dont even have any of this hooked up rightnow and it still does it.
should you be able to run all this **** at one time with no problem. i had a 91 mustang with a 2000 watt amp and 2 12s i wired up my self and never had a problem.
its like the pros f***** it up or i have a lose ground somewere.
