Seat Belt Not Locking?

Seat Belt Not Locking?
When i give it a sharp tug my seatbelt won't lock up, and it kinda sags. I saw a fix kit on 50resto but thats $340 which is more than i'd like to spend on seat belts lol. Is there any fix for this or do i have to junk yard one? or is there any other solution?

nope, you'll need a new or used reciever, if you mean it won't click together, you shouldn't need the retractable portion just the reciever that bolts in between the seat and console

I think he's going to need to junkyard that one if he doesn't want to spend a load of cash.

MJR, I think he's talking about the retractable part. You know if you latch your seat belt, and then grab the section that goes across your chest, and give it a hard yank, it locks up the spool, so you don't whack your face on the steering wheel in a crash.

mine did the same thing...but when i unbolt the seatbelt from the carrier deal, i noticed there was some debris on the way of that metal counter weight thats connected to that plastic cross memeber. i freed it all up and now she locks up again when you tug on it. maybe he needs to make sure everything is free of obstruction.

Yea seems to be a pretty common problem. Mine did that to when I first got the car. I ordered new belts but Im not sure how much they cost bran new. Defiantly wasn't any more than that "fix kit" you were talking about. Get new belts instead of just a fix kit.
