I recently had emissions work done to pass the damn test. During the process, the grommet that holds the TV cable to the throttle broke out and the car would not go into overdrive. I changed the grommet; drove the car for a full day and it seemed fine in the tranny. Well after a day the tranny is now acting up again. It won't go into 1st gear right away. I have to ease it in by giving it gas and high rpm's. Once it's in gear it's fine. All the others including overdrive work fine. Do you guys think this is related to the TV cable stuff or is my tranny just goin finally? I've also heard that maybe a simple trans tune-up might fix the problem. Any ideas??

really no tune up for trans. i say the ppl that did the testing on your car beat it and now your paying for it.

Yeah I figured that. I thought maybe if the filter was changed and the fluid flushed it might help. Who knows.

Yes there is tune ups for AOD's. I would get one done at a tranny shop. They adjust the tranny and it may be fine. Or a solonoid could be burnt out and you may need it replaced.
