Cleaning out gas tank and sending unit replacement.
This weekend I'm planning on dropping my gas tank to replace the sending unit that seems to be busted. I have a great write-up that shows how to replace the fuel pump, so I can handle getting the tank out and back in, and I was wondering a couple things:
1. Is there is any convenient way, since I'm going to have the tank out anyway, to clean the internals of the tank?
2. I had my fuel pump replaced a couple years ago, and I'm pretty sure it's a higher flow pump. How can I find out the flow rating on it?
3. Any potential stumbling blocks when it comes to replacing the sending unit? Anything else I should check while I'm in there?
Thanks, guys!

um if it was me i wouldnt really care about cleaning it, i would probabaly jus let it evaperate if its that empty. When i did mine i jus had like a little less then a quarter tank jus so its light and all.
It might say it on there if not im sure u can jus look at the part number
Some of the lines are a pain with the way they are clipped in but other then those its pretty easy.

easiest thing i ever did ( i replaced the pump, then a few weeks ago the whole tank...)
the clips... 1 clip is an easy c-clip style... other clip you have to wedges somthing in there its almost like a \/ shape.. and you have to wedges a small flat head in there to open up the V shape to get the hose to disconnect.

So what I'm hearing is that the potential danger isn't sludge in the bottom of the tank, it's rust scale? There really couldn't be much grime in the bottom of the tank, or does it all end up in the filter? So if there is a lot of rust scale, I should probably replace the tank. Anyone know what the tanks cost approximately?
