5.0L exhaust
I own a 1990 5.0L LX convertible.. mostly stock and I recently purchased a Magnaflow Stainless steel cat back system, I am going to buy headers and a crossover pipe as well but am not sure what combination is best... I'm definitely going with shorties.. but equal or unequal? whats the difference... and across over pipe but: x pipe or h pipe, is one louder than the other? or produce better horsepower gains?... gimme some suggestions and pointers... Thanks

RE: 5.0L exhaust
if you want the most power, get some longtube headers and an x pipe.
I am not sure about the power difference or sound difference between equal length and unequal shorties.
but I do know that an x pipe makes more power than a h pipe.
the h pipe has a deeper tone though.
I like the x over the h just for the power.

RE: 5.0L exhaust
unless you have a heavily modded car, there wont be much of a difference between LT's and shorties. defenitly go with equal length. they will help all the cylinders flow more evenly.
as far as x or h pipes, the x pipe will make a couple of hp more at peak rpms. the h pipe will sound better
