My friendly neighborhood mechanic says rebuilding a trans is a pain in the butt and more often than not it's (if you include time AND the cost to buy the parts) cheaper to buy a reman or used trans, sometimes even a new trans can be cheaper if you dont have the time to rebuild.

Remanufactured trans are perfectly fine just a little bit cheaper in price than a brand new one, and still are gonna last for a very long time unless your driving habits push the **** out of them anyway.

T-5's are a piece of cake to rebuild!!!but I agree if you have to pay someone to do it plus cost of parts then it's not worth rebuilding it
