I Broke My Trans!!!!!!!!
Well I went out to go move my car to take the trash can to the curb and I couldn't move my shifter past reverse. I drove it the day before and it had a little but of slipping but I figured that was do to the trans fluid being a tad low (thought it was topped off but wasn't completely) but other than that it was fine. So I put it back into the garage and disconnected the shift cable to make sure the cable wasn't binding and figured out it was in the trans.
So off came the pan and I dropped the valve body out and the is a chunk of metal sitting on the gear selector piston on the valve body. This is what was keeping me from shifting....ok that problem is figured out but the big question now is WHERE IS THE METAL FROM!!!!! There were 3 chunks of metal that I found and after I started looking inside the trans I thought part of the casing broke off but after looking at the chunks again I noticed it wasn't the same metal/casting style. I pulled up some pics of the inside trying to figure out what the hell it was. Turns out that the servo piston strut is what shattered into 5 different pieces (I only found 3). The strut is what is squared in redin the pic. Well needless to say I thought my car was done for the rest of my time in the states but now it is nothing but a fee into the junk yard and 30 mins worth of work.
Anyone ever seen this part break before???
