306 deal or no deal help plz

Default 306 deal or no deal help plz

a guy has a 306. new pistons, can rember brand but they hyp style i think, he says there al forged not cast. it has a turned crank and all new bearings and oil pump. never been run. he is ask 400, also the engine has a comp cam with 500 lift but its for flat tappet. im going to be running a set of gt40 heads if i do get it and fuel injections. is it worth 400 and what about the cam. will i be able to tun it or what. also he dont know what year, will i have any trobule buting all of my 95 ho parts on it. will it bolt up. plz no one just say its carp get a 347 b/c i dont have no money

the price sounds good, but you need to make sure the cam carries the h.o firing order or the sefi won't function properly

yes with expensive roller lifters or reduced base circle cam and as for worth of current cam ?? who knows ?? depends on what it is

if you have a flat tappet cam block and such in it right now like I said you need expensive conversion lifters to use a hydraulic roller in a non roller block, or buy a reduced base circle roller cam and perform the mods necessary to install the lifter retainer

sounds expensive. my friend said u could just do a diffent firing order.

in what way do a different firing order? cam determines firing order......you can't use 2 different firing orders with the same cam
