i bought richmond gears for 200$ (dont know if i got ripped or not) but they are making a noise...only everyonce in a while...like when i get on it hard...its not a grinding noise but its sounds like rubbing 2 pieces of sandpaper together. one of my buddys told me richmond gears all make noises..do i have anything to worry about or no?

Only richmonds that werent set up correctly will make noise. They do not all make noise. Your friend is wrong. Go back to the shop and tell them. I had richmond gears years ago and they also made noise. Found out the gears had a recall. Went back and got my new ones. Quiet as a mouse after that.

mine make a whining noise only in 3rd gear doing 60kph.
but I guessed with my shims.
