Default Newb to mustangs

Hey guys, I just got given a 79 mustang pace car, no motor, and needs some work. My question is I have a 96 Crown Victoria Police Interseptor sitting in my driveway with a 4.6l sohc in it, dont flame that it will slow it down or anything im just looking for something cheap to do. How hard would it be to drop said motor into one of these foxes, I know how to turn wrenches and such Im just wondering wat kind of modification to say motor mounts or crossmember would need to be done. would I have cut any thing or should this be just a drop in and hook up, and also does the 4.6 bolt up to an FMX trans or should I stick with the AOD thats in the police car? thanx for any answers you may have for me.

doing that will by NO means be cheap. just grab you a 5.0 and drop it in, they're common enough and normally pretty cheap.. for a mod motor you have to have the swap k-member. i'm unsure of all the other stuff but, it's far from cheap like you're expecting it to be

So lots of mods otherwise is what your saying, the only reason I said cheap is that I have the whole donor car for 4.6l as far as motor, trans, wiring harness, computer, and wat not just curious still thinking of doing it I want to be unique.

if you want to put a mod motor in a fox i say the best would be a 4 valve. but the parts to make either fit, eh... i make my car my own in different ways. i put sn power seats in my fox's, i'm gonna put a bulb leds etc in the bottom light on my tail lights and make it work because 94-95's only have 2. i like to use things that the majority of people dont know about. like i refuse to use any flowmaster mufflers lol. cause EVERYONE has the darn things.... i dont wanna sound like everyone else

If I was in your shoes I'd go buy me a 351 and drop that in there instead. You don't even need a built 351, just get one and drop it in. It'll go right in just fine.
