ford tought for all you know that throwout bearing is falling apart i remeber mine made noise with r with out the clutch in untill i took it apart foud the throwout bearing in like 3 or 4 peices
idk ither my car did it so idk wat to tell you i though my tranny took a dump but when i pulled the tranny i heard peices of metal fall took the bell housing off saw the throwout bearing in 3 peices my pressure plate was damaged so i resurfaced the flywheel got a new clutch kit put it back togeather and it was back to normal
you cant just guess you have to pull stuff apart your not going to find out if you just hear it this guy should just take that tranny off and check that throwout bearing and have a transmission shop open the tranny up for him and find out
Did they replace the pilot bearing and lube it??????? I have seen this problem on a few. Same issues you are describing. Or could be a bad input shft bearing on the trannie. Wll have to pull it to check. Buy a set of mechanics ears and try to issolate the location of the noise in the general area. MAC
WOW!!!! What does it take to tell someone what the problem is?! I can't believe this is still the issue. It's the bearing, trust us knowledgeable ones, not the ones that can't type.

He didnt exacty give us much to work with. If you have a faint squeaking that goes away when you apply gentle pressure to the clutch pedal, then its coming from the TO bearing. The reason behind this is that when the clutch cable is loose, the TO bearing and pressure plate fingers are sliding across each other and making a noise created by friction. When you press down a little bit on the pedal, the outer side of the bearing makes better contact with the fingers of the PP and begins to spin, using its internal bearings. There is nothing wrong with the TO bearing... the cable is mis-adjusted!
However, if its a loud squealing that you get while driving, then your tranny bearings are toast... However, this does not seem to be the case, drawn from the tiny tid-bits of information he have given us!

Thats the thing... its probably NOT adjusted correctly!
