Default Help AOD shifting bad...

Hey my trannys been shiftin wierd. not sure if anything can fix it or not. plz help. its the original tranny, its 20 years old. but the 1-2 shift is super fast and a lil weak, it feels like it didnt really shift. and the 2-3 shift is always a little delayed and really hard. Someone told me the valves might be sticking and i should change the fluid. Any advice? I just wanna make it shift better or daily driving.

I would flush the transmission fluid and change the transmission filter. If that solves your problem I would invest in a tranny cooler and shift kit.

the AOD has two different shafts for 1-2gear and 3-4-reverse gear.

its a common sign of a dieing AOD when your 2-3 shift get's sloppy.

try a fluid flush, and shift kit, a tranny cooler is a MUST if you plan on keeping it.

my nitrous use has torn my AOD to shreds so soon, i will be ripping it out.

ok sounds good. hey i have heard that if you do a tranny flush in a older worn out tranny, that it can ruin it more. and make the shifts soft n sloppy. is this true?

if your really that worryed about it, i would just baby the car, and swap in a built AOD, witch cheapest ive found is around $2,000, more like $3,500 if you want something nice.

or you can swap in a 5speed. a T5 will cost around $1200-2000 depending. or im putting in a TKO600, total cost will be around $3500.

all depend's on what you wanna do.
