Default headlight problem

I have a new headlight/foglight switch so i know that isn't the problem. My headlight switch will be on and all i have are parking lights. I hit the bright's and they work. What part do i need? Is it the entire wiper switch assembly or is it an internal switch?

Default RE: headlight problem

whole switch, its the only way you can get it. i did a "custom job" on my 87 when that happened.
1) take the switch out of the column (not too bad of a job)
2) find the harness that goes to your headlights
3) found end of harness in burnt pieces, with burnt wires. cut end of harness off, stripped wires back, matched headlight signal wire with 5V reference, then i just tied in a $.80 switch from radio shack and there's my headlights.
you'll need some extra wire to do that one, so that it doesn't have to sit up in the column or under the dash :P
yeah that's right, i'm cheap =}
