redoing floors, have a few ?'s
drilled out the spot welds holding the center hump thing that holds the front of the seats up. replaced one floor pan section, doing the other on next week.
I only did the rear half of the drivers side floor, the front half is mint. Back was bad because of T-top leak
My question is: some of the spot weld holes got drilled all the way through the floor pan on the tranny hump. Holes are 3/8 diameter. What is the best way to fill the holes so I can re-spotweld the crossmember hump back on?
Should I try and "fill" the whole thing with weld? or use small pieces of sheetmetal underneath the floor to help "bridge" the gap then grind it down on both sides? I am a pretty good welder, but haven't done much body work before.
Here is what I have done so far. Not finished yet, but you get the idea

I'm no expert but I think it would be better to cut the space open a little more and use a pice of metal in the gap that fits nice and tight then weld it up. I wouldn't stack the metal I think it would rust faster. thats just an idea.
