Default Q about testing EGR

So i still have a code 34. closed circuit above range EVP sensor.

but i ran into other troubles.

i went ahead and checked my egr, and i read that i should apply 5 lb(?) (mg) to the egr and the car should almost die, well i applied 5 _ and the car barely stumbled for a sec and then held steady. This should mean my EGR is bad right? well when i pull the vacuum back off the Egr then the car dies? is this normal? Am i doing it right?

oh codes are 85, 34 KOEO
94,44,34 KOER

and the egr is hooked up when i ran the codes and i reset codes before i ran the check

you need to apply more than 5 .in hg of vaccum to open valve all the way to kill the car,...it should not die when you close the valve but when you open it all the way or run really rough

What do you think would cause the car to die when i pull the vac tester off?

I don't know, it shouldn't die when the valve is being shut, in fact it should go back to running smooth, I was just workng on an egr system for a mitsubishi eclipse this past week and egr is egr, you open it at idle and it runs rough and close it = restore smooth idle if it is in good working order, meaning the valve, so as long as your valve is functioning properly, it should operate as I suggested
