abs brakes and line lock question

abs brakes and line lock question
So I want to put a line lock on my 94 GT, and I was told that in order to do a line lock on the 94 cars I would have to loose my abs, could someone either tell me this person is wrong or could explain to me at least vaguely why you need to loose the abs system.
