aod or aode help

I have an 89 gt and my 4th gear decided to go on me and was wondering if the 89's came stock with AOD or AODE transmissions? And whats the difference by the way? thanks

AOD came stock for this year and you have to have to the shifter in overdrive for it to use all the gears AODE is electic overdrive meaning you push a button on the shifter to turn overdrive on and off.

you can get a AODE to work in a foxbody. they sell the conversion
