Default 95 cobra questions

hey

i currently own a 97 z28. 6spd with t-tops tan leather interior, few basic mods. longtubes, exhaust, etc. currently 6th gear dosn't work....stripped gears i suppose. no headliner. front bumper cover could use minor paint. has 100k on it.

currently i am looking at a 95 cobra to trade plus i give the guy 700. the car has 160k...with an engine replaced at 60 with receipts. completly stock but i will also get mac headers, mac exhaust, b303 cam, lifters, timing chain. clean interior. clean body.

my worries is cash is kinda tight and its kinda higher mileage. what are some common problems with these cars? should i be worried with those miles on the rear and trans? and how are these engines on reliablity? 100k is on that.

also with the parts im getting with it...what kinda of 1/4 mile times can i see with it?

thanks alot for the help guys

I'd be wondering why the engine needed replacing at 60k... at any rate the cars are extremely reliable and do not have many issues, many 5.0s run well over 200k with no serious problems.

As long as the car has been driven nicely the trans should be fine, you'll know if its decent if you drive it. As for the rear end they're pretty strong, shouldn't have any issues there.

To use the cam you'll need a tune but with the stock gear you'll maybe be lookin at mid 13s. Try to get the cash part of the deal reduced if you can just to save some money...

best bet is to figure out what both cars are actually worth and then work from there. As far as the deal is concerned without seeing any pics or anything else it's really hard to say.

yea true. well heres the cobra . http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/1084307388.html. mine on KBB is a little higher, however from what it looks like....his is cleaner. my car dosnt have 6th and labor on transmissions on pretty high. i think it would be fair in my end to give him a little bit since 6th dosn't work and the bumper cover and all.

hmm cloth interior, that makes that car pretty rare (127 built with that combo)

yeah if u want to get out from under your Camaro $700 doesn't seem too bad, but if your car is worth more in said condition you shouldn't be paying him.

i had no idea the cloth interior would make it rare. kinda cool i guess on that aspect. like i said ill be offering a lil less then the 700. prob 4 or something. i think in the long run his is actually worth more. and i won't be losing money on my car i paid 1500 for it. haha. kid i got it from was desperate to pay school bills

Yeah since most Cobras come with leather any time they have cloth they are more rare, assuming he didn't change the interior for whatever reason. I mean it's not something worth paying more for, just sort of a bragging right.

You'll like the Cobra, as long as you can drive they are low low 14s in stock condition, plus it should be a lot more comfy than your fbody.
