measuring pushrods
will a stock roller lifter made solid work for measuring pushrod length if i am gonna run retrofit lifter? if not what do i use? these retrofits arnt cheap so i really hope i dont gatta by one to use
^^^not sure.....but a quick way to check it when you first set them up, do it with both the converted one and retro one and see where the contact patch is on the stem and see if it contacts at the same spot, I color the tips of all stems with a black sharpie
and then wiggle the rocker to see where the contact pattern begins
and then wiggle the rocker to see where the contact pattern begins
ok may be a stupid question but i have read a few articles on this subject but never got this ansered. do you check every cylinder? and do you torque the head on then use that tools that allow you to swap springs 'forgot the name' with the heads on to change springs
grab your retrofit lifters and measure their height... if they are taller than the stock roller lifters, take the difference between the two, and SUBTRACT it from the push rod length that you get when measuring with a solid-converted hyd-roller lifter
