Spring and conrtol arm install advice please!
Gonna be installing an eibach prokit and blue oval industres upper and lower control arms this weekend, just wondering if anyone has and instructions or advice to make it as easy as possible? Thsi will be the most in dept mechanical work ive done. I love cars but dont know a ton about em so gonna take on the job myself and start learning more about it all this weekend. It doesnt seem like it is going to be a terribly tough job maybe just time consuming. Any advice or information you all have i would love to hear it.

suspension is super super easy to do. are you only doing the rear end suspension?
if so it shouldnt take you longer than 2-4 hours for a newby.
jack the car up, put jackstands under the body and let the rear end down.
-remove wheels
-unbolt/remove the driveshaft with 12mm 12point(i think)
- unbolt breakline at the distribution block at the top of the rear end pumpkin(one bolt, fairly small)
-remove the quad shocks
-position the jack under the pumpkin and just take the weight off
-unbolt the shock at the rear end on both sides
-lower the rear and pull out the springs
-jack it back up slightly and unbolt all the control arms at the rear end. (have someone hold it in place so it doesnt fall or have another set up jack stands in place to rest the rear end on)
-lower rear end to the ground
-replace control arms and put everything back in reverse order
make sure you get new spring isolators.
also when you have your rear out like that you inspect your rear end seals, breaks, wheel studs and stuff like that.

For a newbie my only advice is to work safely. Springs can be lethal weapons.
With the suspension drooped you are pretty much out of danger but be aware. Chains will prevent them from jumping out and don't use your fingers. Pry bars.

always be very safe when working with springs. if its only the rear though they are really safe compared to the fronts. with the rear completely unloaded(shocks and quads disconnected from the rear) they should nearly fall out.

cool thanks for the info fellas. i am doing front and rear. luckily here at work i have a lift i can use also to make things a little easier and a trans jack i can use to lower the rear. I've always been afraid to mess with it and just pay someone to put it on for me, but i will feel better about it and more accomplished if i take on the task myself. cant wait to get into it all!
