just died at fast idle
So my car sat for 2 years with 1/2 tank of gas, and I just finished the paint job and ready to drive it again, so I fill it the rest of the way with 93 octane and a bottle of octane boost.
I let it fast idle between 2000 - 2500 rpm for about a 1/2 hour to hopefully get the new gas through it and clear out the fuel system . Car is not tagged yet.
The temp gauge was showing normal throughout, all of a sudden it just died like turning the key off. The temp guage went up some ,,maybe 220.
Then it wouldnt start,, battery was drained, so I try a booster box and it cranked over fine but wont start.. I will try it again tomorrow.
Is there any type of sensor that could have killed it ?
This is a stock 5.0 with new plugs, wires, cap and rotor

did you crank it so the battery was drained ?? or after it died it woul not crank due to dead battery? if the latter is te case, the alt may be kaput, but if it won't start even with a boost, check for spark or fuel or lack there of

The battery was drained when it cut out,, andwouldnt crank at all,,until I jumped it.
The volt guage was showing almost 12v when it was running,,,but I dont know how accurate it or any of the guages are.
So there is no type of sensor that will just turn it off if it gets hot?
