Default 89 mustang 3 issues

There is a whiring noise that is getting louder when I am shifting in 1, 2nd , and third. the sound is coming from right below the shifter. The sound stops in 4th or fith gear.

Next: When I am over 80 miles per hour it all of the sudden sounds like a vibrating train.. could that be the drive shaft?

Finally every third or so clutch pedal engagement produces a popping sound.
It does not effect the shifting, but it is annoying.

Backgorung: 1989 Mustang , afr 185 heads built 331. bbk intake 24lbs Injectors, Maf tuned for the injectors, 65mm throttle body, shorty headers, 3.73 gears comp cams 35-518-8 , and 1.6 lifters. _Ram clutch, and stock T-5
with a short throw shifter.

Thank you all for any response

popping sound sounds like a bad clutch cable or one about to snap, noise in gears, could be a bad bearing in the tranny, either on the countershaft or on the output shaft, you can check the u-joints if you wish to make sure there is no play in them

The whining i'm sure is your transmission going out. With the mods you listed, a stock T-5 usually doesn't last all that long. It's probably time to upgrade to a better trans. I agree that the vibration is most likely bad u-joints in the driveshaft.

The popping is likely your clutch cable/quadrant showing its age... I'd upgrade before its too late and you get stranded somewhere with a broken plastic quadrant or stretched cable..
